Welcome to the RetrokiT website..!

Part of my last update, that of the 23 July, has somehow disappeared and this 'explains' why this home page may have appeared blank if you have visited the site lately...

Let's try to remember what I wrote when I thought I was doing the changes to this page...

72037 unpainted

Yes!  I started with those hot summer days (yes, even here in England!), and the fact that despite enjoying the longest days of the year, time does seem to be even rarer than usual...  My main occupation, that of a face/body-painter (see www.faceoffpainters.com) keeps me busy year long, but as one would imagine, summer time is particularly busy and therefore I have little time, or at least less time, to develop the RetrokiT catalogue.  However, I'm pleased to tell you that the SAVA armoured car master in now in the hands of my very capable caster, and that the kit should therefore be available early September, just in time for the show in Brussels.  The kit will feature decals and photo-etched parts.  This is the very first time, I believe, that this vehicle is being made available in kit.  The Minerva, however, has been shelved, as I still haven't been able to get in touch with the owner of a civilian Minerva which would have provided much needed information to finally offer a really accurate kit...

For the present time, I am releasing a kit of the diminutive Simca Cinq (or Simca 5), much used by the French and German armies during WWII.  It can also make a very cute little civilian car!  This is not strictly speaking a brand new car, as it had been available from Mr Panzer, of Italy, for some time under the original designation Fiat 500 Topolino.  The RetrokiT offering does include a few extra parts specific to the licence-built French vehicle, as well as decals for two military vehicles.  Mr Panzer's Fiat 500 has been very popular and I felt that making the Simca Cinq available would make sense.  As it happens, I built the original master for this little kit...

Coming up soon are more update and detail sets from the RetrokiT/OKB Grigorov synergy.  The first item in this new range has been extremely well received and spurred us to extend the range as soon as possible.  Therefore, expect many plastic kits to get the RetrokiT/OKB Grigorov 'treatment'!  I am also introducing very very soon the range of a US company, HQ72, who are manufacturing exquisite resin diorama accessories and ruins in 1/72, and very soon, some very interesting conversion kits and full kits.

Happy holidays and happy modelling (if you can find the time, that is!).
